Each bucket of an endless digging line of a trenching machine such as described in the referred to Specification 978,473 comprises a front and a rear section. Each section is formed by a top wall 86, 98 outwardly disposed of and bridging spaced side walls 88, 96 provided with means 90, 103 for allowing of attachment of the section to the chains of the digging line. The side walls 96 of a rear section project forwardly of the attachment means 103 of the section and vice versa for a front section and the walls of a pair of associated sections when mounted on the chains are disposed in overlapping telescopic relationship.
