Abstract
978,392. Fire grates; heating air; hot-water boilers. Y. COLLARD. July 12, 1963 [July 13, 19621, No. 27659/63. Headings F4A, F4S and F4W. A fire grate enabling a double heating effect to be obtained comprises two tubular transverse members 1, 2 connected by shaped tubular elements 3, 4, 5 &c., an air intake 10 with a suction motor 8 situated remote from the grate and connected to the interior of tube 1 by a pipe 9, and a supply conduit connected to tube 2 and having its outlet in a room to be heated. The air intake 10 may be provided with a filter 11. Either tubes 1 and 2, or elements 3, 4, 5 &c. may have constrictions to regulate the flow of air through the grate. In another embodiment, the air intake and suction means are connected to tube 2 while tube 1 supplies heated air to the room. In another embodiment, Fig. 5 (not shown), the grate is provided with three tubular transverse members interconnected by shaped tubular elements. A further embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown), comprises a box-shaped grate of downwardly narrowing cross-section. A water flow circuit may also be incorporated in (any of) the (above) grate structures.
