978,200. Nacreous films. E.I. DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO. June 27, 1962 [June 28, 1961], No. 24718/62. Heading B5B. [Also in Divisions B2, C1, C3, C4 and C7] A nacreous cellulose acetate film is prepared by coating a glass plate with a lacquer comprising a pigment, having a translucent micaceous flake substrate and a translucent surface layer of carbon, in a cellulose acetate solution in acetone, and the film is then drawn down to the required thickness, e.g. about 0.16 mm. The pigment may have interposed between the micaceous flake substrate and carbon surface layer a layer of translucent titanium dioxide or zirconium dioxide. Specification 974,874 is referred to.
