976,435. Powder distributers. H. M. GIBSON. April 29, 1963 [May 1, 1962], No. 16685/62. Heading A1D. A machine for applying powder to the ground comprises a ribbed applicator roller 5 mounted below a hopper 1 and driven through speed reducing means comprising rollers 15, 18 mounted on a shaft 16 the rollers 18 being driven by contact with rollers 17 on the landwheels 7. The amount of powder deposited is adjusted by raising or lowering the hopper in relation to the roller 5. In an alternative embodiment the applicator roller of Specification 849,740 is provided with landwheels and a hopper.
