Abstract

976,103. Manhole covers. BROADS MANUFACTURING CO. Ltd., and G. ROBINSON. Feb. 15, 1962, No. 5925/62. Heading E1G. A manhole cover C comprises lugs 1 which fit laterally loosely in recesses 2 in a frame F and seat on pads 3 of polyethylene plastics material. The pads may be semi circular (as shown) or U-shaped and are supported by a flange 14 of the frame to which they may be bonded. The cover is formed with a depending peripheral flange 4 and reinforcing ribs 5-7. Slots 9 and 10 are provided in the cover to receive lifting keys and prising means respectively and a locating stud 11 is engageable in a groove 12 in the frame. Specification 311,865 is referred to.
