Abstract
975,416. Contact members for switches. W. PREH, and A. PREH, [trading as PREH ELEKTROFEINMECHANISCHE WERKE, JAKOB PREH NACHFOLGER]. July 19, 1961 [July 22, 1960; Nov. 15, 1960], No. 26213/61. Heading H2B. In a push-button switch. Figs. 1, 1a, 1b a frame 1, 2, supports an insulating slider 3 bearing contacts 5 arranged to bridge pairs of fixed contacts 8 carried on either side thereof on insulating strips 4. The slider contacts are in the form of helical springs located by projections 7 in recesses 6 in the slider and the fixed contacts 8 are U- shaped wires pushed through a pair of holes in strips 4 and then bent at right angles, to form connecting lugs 8<SP>1</SP>. In a second embodiment each slider contact is in the form of of a split tube rolled from the blank of Fig. 3b into the form of Fig. 3a and held in a suitable recess in the slider, Fig. 2a (not shown). The fixed contacts are formed from metal strips with cut-away ends received in a parallel pair of insulating supports, Fig. 2b (not shown). In a further embodiment the split-tube contacts are slotted to thread on the slider and located by notches receiving their split ends, Figs. 4 and 6 (not shown).
