[Also in Division G4] A liquid dispensing machine of the type having storage containers 12, Fig. 3, for e.g. solutions of sugar, milk, tea, coffee, automatically replenishing open reservoirs 10, Fig. 11, thereunder from which means deliver predetermined quantities to a delivery channel 18, has a setting mechanism comprising a shaft 8 carrying cams 12a-15a, for selecting a combination of liquids, each of which at its high point lifts a link 30 about pivot 54 so that a pin 32 on a scoop funnel 21 enters the large horizontal part of L-slot 31 and the link can move without moving the pin, and at its low point allows the pin to move into the vertical part of the L-slot whereby the link can move the pin. On manual setting of the cams via gears 11, an interlock 49 and e.g. a coin-actuated device 59 permits manual shifting at 44 of bar 39 against return spring 41 under the control of a dashpot or timer 43 whereby lever 20 deposits a cup beneath channel 18, cranks 52 are turned to move links 30 so that the selectively lowered links tip their scoops about pivots 22 to lift a quantity of solution from the reservoirs and empty it into the channel via funnels 23, 24 on the return movement. Finally a crank directly lowers a scoop 63 into a hot water reservoir 65, outside refrigerator 35 holding the containers, for flushing the other solutions from the channel into the cup. The scoops may be replaced by valve apparatus and the containers, reservoirs, scoops and funnels are releasably clamped so that they can be removed for cleaning or scoops of different sizes introduced.
