975,081. Hose couplings. ANCHOR COUPLING CO. Inc. July 9, 1963, No. 27099/63. Heading F2G. A hose coupling of the split clamp type comprises an insert 1 including an attaching head 2 and stem 3, threads 13 formed on said stem and a pair of complementary clamp sectors 8 having gripping threads formed on their inner faces conforming in number to and pitch of the stem threads such that the sectors are interlocked on the insert. Means are provided on the stem and clamp sectors for circumferentially indexing the stem with respect to the clamp sectors. In the construction shown the threads formed on the stem have equal widths of roots and flats and radiuses of approximately half of the depth of the threads connecting the flats and roots of the thread. The indexing means comprises co-operating notches 7 and ribs or webs 12 of the insert and the clamping sectors respectively which also possess a complementary rib 6 and groove 11. If an even multiple number of threads is formed on the sectors then the sectors are identical.
