A dust mask comprises a body member 1, shaped to fit against the face and bear on it by an edge contact only, carrying a cloth filter 2 which is retained in place by a perforated cover member 4. The filter is initially of pyramidal or conical form and then closed in on itself in corrugated folds which are held in position by radial spacers.
