Abstract

974,483. Pulse generators. COMPAGNIE FRANCAISE THOMSON-HOUSTON. Jan. 31, 1961 [Feb. 2, 1960], No. 3654/61. Heading H3P. A pulse generator comprises a plurality of interconnected cells feeding a common load, each cell comprising a charging element in series with a discharge network feeding the load and a gas-filled tube having its anode lead directly connected to the junction of the charging element and the network and arranged to discharge the network into the load. The gasfilled tubes are triggered simultaneously. Fig. 4 shows a pulse generator for a radar transmitter in which delay lines 16, 17 are changed from a high voltage supply 13 via inductors 14, 15 and discharged via one half of the primary winding of output transformer 23 when the thyratrons 20, 21 are triggered by pulses from a source 40. The output power is doubled by a similar circuit 41 feeding the other half of the winding. Fig. 2b shows an arrangement using a push-pull output transformer 27 feeding a load 29. Fig. 3 (not shown), relates to the parallel combination of three sets of inductor's delay lines and thyratrons. Resonant charging using hold-off diodes may be employed as in Fig. 2a (not shown).
