Abstract
974,323. Mechanical switches without quick action. TESLA NARODNI PODNIK. May 2, 1963 [May 10, 1962], No. 17363/63. Heading H2B. A switch for coaxial cables comprises a cylindrical housing 1 on which are mounted four sockets 17 having centre pins 9 extending inside the housing to form fixed contacts. A rotor comprising two substantially identical parts 3 and 4 urged apart by springs 5 and 6 carries two spring blade contacts 7 and 8 mounted on insulation 10 in cavities as shown so as to bridge selected adjacent pins 9. The rotor is turned by means of a spindle 15 having a transverse pin 16 which engages holes in the parts 3 and 4. Balls 11 and 12, one of which is loaded by a spring 13, engage spaced recesses in a bearing ring 14 to locate the rotor in its rest positions, and also to force the rotor parts 3 and 4 inwards as the spindle is turned such that the parts 3 and 4 and the contacts 7 and 8 do not frictionally engage the inside of the housing whilst moving.
