[Also in Division H5] In a gas-shielded arc welding torch comprising a gas nozzle 19, surrounding an electrode 24, and an insulated handle 10 containing a metal body 15 provided with a gas passage 9, a metal member 13 contacting the electrode 24 is connected to the metal body 15 by a bundle of flexible wires 12 surrounded by a flexible sheath 30 forming an annular gas passage connecting the nozzle 19 to the passage 9. The wires 21 are preferably contained in a non-conductive envelope 34. The nozzle 19 is screwed on to a collet body 22 surrounding a collet 23 for clamping the electrode 24 in the contactor 13. The metal body 15 contains water passages 27, 28, 29 and 32, and is provided with a waterjacket 14 enclosing passages 16 and 17. Cooling water is supplied through a tube 26 and leaves through a hose 35 containing a power cable 20. In a modified arrangement (Fig. 4, not shown) the water-cooling is omitted. Each arrangement provides a torch in which the nozzle 19 can be universally adjusted with respect to the handle 10.
