973,100. Digital data storage. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION. Dec. 12, 1961 [Dec. 14, 1960], No. 44388/61. Heading G4C. A core matrix is addressed by rings C, D, the stages of which pulse the rows and columns respectively. Each ring operates independently of the other, i.e. one ring is not stepped by the switching of a particular stage of the other, and the numbers of rows and of columns are aliquant so that all positions of the matrix are addressed, as indicated in the 5 by 6 matrix shown. When the last stages of the rings are switched together, addressing is stopped.
