Abstract
972, 634. Endless film cassettes. SCROLL FILM INDUSTRIES Inc. Nov. 21, 1962 [Dec. 6, 1961], No. 43991/62. Headings G2E and G2J. A cassette 10 for the continuous projection of an endless film strip F in a coil C having inside and outside ends joined to form a film loop L, comprises a film housing 50 having an internal core 58 to support the coil and a re-entrant film guide 64 communicating with the housing through which the loop L passes as the strip F is continuously wound from one end of the coil and on to the other, the guide 64 having an opening 78a, 78b through which the film may be engaged by driving rollers 38, 40, and further having a framing aperture 76a, 76b. The cassette is of moulded plastics construction and made in two halves permanently or releasably sealed to enclose film for the "SCROLLFILM" (Trademark) process which is projected at 0. 4 to 1. 0 ft. per minute. The cassette is mounted between ribs 32a, 32b defining a rack 30 above and behind the projection position on projector 10. The film is frictionally gripped by motor-driven roller 38 and spring-urged roller 40. Guide 64 also has openings 80a and 80b through control signals may be sensed from the film strip as, for example, in the provision of accompanying audio-material.
