In a domestic mixing machine the hollow driving spindle 1 has slots 2 and is pressed into a bushing 6 having a cap 8 which retains the female part 9 of a press stud. The shaft 4 of the stirrer or other implement has lugs 3 which engage the slots 2 and an annulus 11 similar to the underpart of a press stud, which is engaged by the part 9. The implement may be disengaged by an ejector acting upon the tail 10 of the shaft, which projects through the aperture 7. The bushing 6 may be formed as a driving pinion 5.
