Abstract

969,758. Shirt collar supports. SNARE & CLAYTON Ltd. Sept. 26, 1961 [Nov. 10, 1960], No. 38621/60. Heading B8C. A collar support for use in displaying collarattached shirts comprises a band-like member shaped so as to fit under a collar and extend completely therearound, the two free ends of the band being adapted to be interlocked in a selected one of a number of positions so as to adapt the support to different collar sizes. The stiffener is made of resilient material and is of ladder formation in that upper and lower narrow strips 1 and 2 are interconnected by transverse parallel ribs 3. A locking bar 4 at one end of the stiffener and of less width than the stiffener end is engaged between adjacent ribs 5 at the other end of the stiffener, there being seven of these more closely spaced than ribs 3, thus forming six different locking positions corresponding to six collar sizes. In use the two ends are positioned at one side of the collar, the upper edge 1 of the stiffener being curved inwardly towards the lower edge 2 so that the stiffener conforms to the shape of the collar. A decorative panel 10 is incorporated to bear siignnia concerning the shirt.
