In a telephone set having a bell mounted inside the case of the set, the gong 2, Fig. 1, of the -bell is provided with a sound reflecting wall 3 which wholly or partially surrounds the gong and leans toward the gong and reflects sound produced by the gong through holes 5 in the base of the set case. The wall may extend outside the case as at 4, Fig. 1. In a modification, Fig. 3, the wall 3 is provided with a hole 7 and the wall is surrounded with a part 8 which forms, with the wall 7, a resonant cavity to accentuate some components of the ringing sound.
