968,936. Lixiviating materials by aid of screw conveyers. DE DANSKE SUKBERFABRIKKER A/S. June 21, 1962 [June 29, 1961], No. 23900/62. Heading B8A. Trough 1 is provided with two pairs of intermeshing screws 3, 3a, 4, 4a so that material supplied from shoot 2 may thereby be conveyed upwards to the right against a current of liquid introduced into the top of the trough, the extract formed being discharged at the bottom of the trough. The upper screws are formed conically at 10 to permit the screws to convey material upwards against pivoted flap 8. A heating or cooling duct may pass through the centre of the trough.
