968,784. Eye washing appliances. COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE. Dec. 14, 1962 [Dec. 14, 1961], No. 47255/62. Addition to 923,977. Heading A5R. In a modification of the eye-washing apparatus described in the parent Specification, the upper container, in which flushing liquid is stored prior to use, is replaced by a flexible bag. The general layout of the equipment is similar to the apparatus referred to but the flushing liquid is stored in a flexible plastic bag 2 having rigid members 4, 7 at each end and suspended from a hook 6. An outlet 8 is coupled to the flexible tubing 9 leading to the eyebath 10 and, in order to retain the liquid until required, the tubing 9 is looped through a quickly releasable support 12 engaged on the hook 6. This is broken or disconnected when the apparatus is in use, so that the liquid flows through the eyebath to the receiver 15. The latter may also be a similar plastic bag and may be carried on a hinged bottom 19 which drops when the door of the cabinet is opened.
