965,540. Coated films. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Dec. 20. 1960 [Dec. 28, 1959], No. 43746/60. Heading B2E. [Also in Divisions G2 and H1] A recording medium for use in electrophotography (see Division G2) which on uniform heating contracts in thickness where it is charged, comprises a base of transparent smooth polyethylene terephthalate of thickness 4 mils which is heat stable up to 150 ‹C., a thin transparent coating of stannic oxide or cuprous iodide, and over this a transparent coating of from 2Á to 0À1 mm. thickness formed from a toluene solution of a blend comprising by weight 70% polystyrene, 28% m-terphenyl and 2% of a copolymer of 95% butadiene and 5% styrene, the coating being solid at room temperature but fluid at a temperature in the range 100-150 ‹C.
