Abstract

4- Methoxy -31- chloro-diphenylamino -61-carboxyamido-penicillanic acid and non-toxic salts thereof may be prepared by a process wherein 6-aminopenicillanic acid or one of its neutral salts is acylated with 4-methoxy-31-chloro-diphenylamino-61-carboxylic acid or one of its derivatives which is capable of reacting with the 6-amino group of 6-amino-penicillanic acid. Pharmaceutical compositions comprise one or more of the penicillins of the invention and a pharmaceutical diluent or carrier, in admixture or not with other therapeutically useful substances.
