Abstract
a -Phenoxyisopropyl penicillin and non-toxic salts thereof may be prepared by a process which comprises reacting 6-aminopenicillanic acid with an a -phenoxyisobutyryl halide, a -phenoxyisobutyric acid anhydride or a mixed anhydride of a -phenoxyisobutyric acid. The penicillin or non-toxic salt thereof may be admixed with conventional pharmaceutical diluents to form pharmaceutical compositions. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 878,233.
