Abstract
965,002. Electric selective signalling systems. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION. May 30,1961 [June 9, 1960], No. 19442/61. Heading G4H. A magnetic switch comprises cores 10-16 having respective input windings 18-24 and groups of output windings 26-56,the output windings being connected in series in accordance with a combinational code to form output lines A-D whereby the simultaneous energization of all the input windings produces an effective output in only one line. Thus, if all the input windings are energized by positive pulses a negative output is produced in line A, while the application of positive pulses to windings 18, 20 and negative pulses to windings 22, 24 produces a negative output in line B,and so on. The arrangement of output windings shown is stated to effectively neutralise spurious outputs. In general for 2<SP>n</SP> magnetic cores a total of 2<SP>n</SP> input windings are provided, and each core has a 2<SP>n</SP> output windings connected to form 2<SP>n</SP> output lines, n being any integer.
