Abstract

964,153. Internal fittings for boxes; protective packaging. SMITH, STONE & KNIGHT Ltd. May 7, 1963 [May 26, 1962], No. 20345/62. Headings B8C and B8P. A cushioning pad 10, adapted to be located between a corner of an article and a container, is made by coiling a single strip of corrugated paper to an L- shape, the layers being secured together by adhesive. The pad is formed with a V-shaped groove, having an apex angle of less than 90 degrees at the junction of its two faces 12 and 13. The corner of the article is spaced from the pad, but otherwise the configuration of the pad corresponds to the configuration of the two surfaces of the article defining the corner.
