Abstract

963,367. Treating leather. STROJOSVIT NARODNI PODNIK. Sept. 6, 1961 [Sept. 6, 1960], No. 31990/61. Heading C6C. The hide, skin or a similar flat half-product 1 is fed from the table 10 into the device in such a manner that the greater part thereof is placed under the treatment instrument 2. The adjustable carrier means 4, 5, 5<SP>1</SP>, 6 is now brought to engage operatively with the first treatment mechanism 2, 3, and the remaining part of the half-product 1 which is to be subsequent<SP>1</SP> treated is hung over the adjustable carrier means. After the total surface of the first half of the half-product 1 has been treated the adjustable carrier means 4, 5, 5<SP>1</SP>, 6 together with the half-product ovehanging downwards is brought into operative engagement with the second treatment mechanism comprising the elements 7, 8, 9. The treatment instrument 7 begins now to treat the second half of the halfproduct 1 which has not yet undergone treatment. The treatment also in this case is accomplished over the entire surface of the second half of the treated material, and on a second supporting element 5. The feed is accomplished by feed rollers 4, 8. At the moment when the adjustable carrier means together with the part of the half-product which is to be treated in the second phase is brought to the second treatment mechanism 7, 8, 9 the edge of the part which has already been treated in the first phase becomes jammed between the upper pressure element 9 and the auxiliary roller 6. By this pressure element 9, the half-product 1 is then removed on the auxiliary roller 6 from the device either at the same peripheral velocity as the velocity of the feed rollers 4, 8 or at a higher velocity. The removal of this first treated part of the half-product takes place in this case before the second part meanwhile undergoing treatment and being fed into the device in the second stage. The removed first part of the half-product is placed on a conveyer 11 or a non-illustrated storage device. As can be seen, in this case the first part of the half-product to be removed from the device is the part which was introduced first into the device, the upper surface of the half-product introduced into the device remaining the upper surface after passing therethrough. In the second case indicated in Fig. 3, the peripheral velocity of the pressure element 9 is zero, or substantially lower than the peripheral velocity of the feed rollers 4, 8. Due to this fact, the part of the treated halfproduct which has been treated in the first stage is retained by the pressure element 9 on the auxiliary roller 6 until the second part of the treated half-product becomes withdrawn from the device over the feed roller 8 and laid on the conveyer 11 or a non-illustrated storage device. As can be seen, in this case, the first part of the half-product to leave the device is the part which has been introduced in the second place, and the surface which has been the upper one during the feed period of the half-product becomes now the lower one while the half-product is withdrawn from the device.
