Abstract

963,207. Syringes. C. D. WALLER. June 18, 1962 [Sept. 1, 1961], No. 31584/61. Heading F1R. A dispenser, e.g. for creams and the like, comprises an internally threaded container within which an externally threaded piston is axially movable by relative rotation between the piston and the container. In the embodiment of Fig. 1, the container 1 is rotatable relative to an outer casing 3 to which guide posts 4 are secured to prevent rotation of piston 8. A press or screw-fit cover 27, 28 is provided. Ratchet or spring-loaded ball means may be provided for uni-directional drive. In another embodiment, a central ribbed or grooved guide post is secured to casing 3 to prevent rotation of the piston. In the embodiment of Fig. 4, piston 8a is rotated relative to container 1a by rotation of a base member 43 acting through a splined post 44. The dispenser may be of synthetic plastics.
