Abstract

A porous article, e.g. shoe sole, is prepared from a natural or synthetic rubber composition containing 30% by weight of filler and from 5 to 10% by weight of a porous filler, e.g. wood flour, crumb rubber or cotton flock, sulphur, vulcanising accelerators, processing aids, antioxidants and a blowing agent, e.g. di-N-nitrosopentamethylene tetramine, diazoamino benzene or p-p1-oxybis (benzene disulphonyl hydrazide) or an inorganic agent.
