Abstract
Nitrocyclohexane is reduced to cyclohexanone oxime by means of hydrogen under pressure in a closed vessel heated to 135 DEG C. and in presence of a catalyst which is obtained by mixing in an aqueous medium tricalcium phosphate and a silver salt in the ratio of 5-40 parts of calcium phosphate to one part of silver salt and drying the resultant mixture. Minor amounts of cyclohexylamine and cyclohexylhydroxylamine are obtained.ALSO:Catalysts suitable for the partial reduction of nitrocyclohexane to nitrocyclohexanone oxime are made by mixing in an aqueous medium Ca3(PO4)2 and a silver salt in a weight ratio of 5-40 : 1 and drying the product. Specified silver salts are Ag, No3, Ag2, So4 and CH3 COOHg. Examples are given.
