Abstract

961,788. Zener diode gating circuits. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. June 13, 1963 [July 3, 1962], No. 25490/62. Heading H3T. A pulse-plus-bias gating circuit comprises a pulse input capacitor C, a bias input resistor R and an output rectifier RFD, all of which are connected at one side to a common point P and at the other side to a pulse input terminal IT, a bias input terminal BT and a pulse output terminal OT respectively. As shown, the bias input terminal is connected to a source of bias comprising a potentiometer Rc, Rd connectible by switch S, which may be electronic, to a negative source. According to the invention, the rectifier RFD comprises a Zener diode connected for conduction in its reverse direction in response to the application of an applied input pulse of the same polarity as the previously applied bias potential, at terminal BT, holding the Zener diode reverse biased.
