Abstract

961,582. Stands &c. DECCA Ltd. Nov. 13, 1962 [Nov. 21, 1961], No. 41657/61. Heading A4H. [Also in Division H4] In a combined television receiver and stand, the base of the receiver housing, which contains substantially all the electrical circuit components of the receiver and the cathode-ray tube, has a rod or tube extending therefrom which slides within or surrounds a rod or tube comprising the single leg of the stand to provide a rotatable mounting. As shown the stand comprises a tubular metal leg 17 (which may be coated with wood or fluted to provide an attractive appearance) and which has three radially extending feet 18 welded to its base and a flange 19 at its top. A metal tube 16 fastened to the inside of the receiver housing 10 passes through an apertured base 13, 14 to fit within the leg 17. Frictional rotation is provided by the rubbing surfaces 19, 14, and additional stops (not shown) may be provided to limit the rotational movement. The aerial lead 20 and mains supply lead 21 are inserted through the leg of the stand.
