Abstract

A cable fixing element 1 comprises a moulded core 2 into which fits a generally U-shaped resilient metal member 7 having two lateral projections 14, 14' which engage an end of a hook connected to a control lever. This engagement obstructs transverse movement between the hook and tines or arms 5, 5' of the core 2, thereby preventing noise and vibration. The metal member 7 is inserted laterally into a recess defined by arms 5, 5' and is automatically locked in position by resilient tabs 12, 12', cooperating with channels (13, 13', fig 3), and projections 10, 10', 11, 11'. These projections 10, 10', 11, 11' also act as stops while assembling the core 2 and member 7. The hook of the control lever is fastened to shaft 6 and an end of the cable may be attached to the metal member 7 and received in recess 4. The metal member 7 may be stamped from metal sheet of a grade which ensures a certain degree of resilience.
