961,288. Trepanning tools. DIAGRIT ELECTROMETALLICS Ltd. May 31, 1963, No. 21833/63. Headings B3C and B3D. A trepanning tool comprises a cutting edge 11 which may be of cutting steel, tungsten carbide or formed with an adhered coating of diamond or other abradant dust and a tubular extension 12 which is integral with a solid shank 13 for engagement with the chuck of a drilling machine. The internal diameter and wall thickness of the extension 12 is greater than that of the operative portion 10 and is provided with a window 15 which permits the cores formed by subsequent drilling operations to be centrifugally ejected during operation of the tool.
