Abstract

The invention comprises a compound of the formula: <FORM:0961045/C1/1> and the preparation thereof by condensing 5,5 - diphenyl - tetrahydroglyoxalin -4- one with chloral. Examples are given.ALSO:Pharmaceutical compositions comprise the tetrahydroglyoxaline derivative of the formula <FORM:0961045/A5-A6/1> and carriers therefor. They may also contain a barbiturate hypnotic. The tetrahydroglyoxaline compound is stated to have sedative ataraxic effect. Tablets, cachets, suppositories and capsules are described.
