Abstract

960,193. Respiratory masks. AIRMED Ltd. April 26, 1963 [April 26, 1962], No. 16011/62. Heading A5T. A respiratory mask is fastened to headgear by links at each side, each link being attached through the intermediary of an attachment member 6 slidable over a base member 5 attached to the headgear under the control of coaxial screws 8, 9 of opposite hand which are attached to the attachment member and the base member respectively and have threaded engagement with a common control member 12. Flaps 7 on each base member which is attached to a helmet by snap fasteners 13 are bent to form guide channels for the attachment members each of which has a hook 14 for securing a swivel eye 15 attached to the appropriate flexible link. The screws 8, 9 are threaded into opposite ends of the control member which is cylindrical. On rotating the control member the screws approach or recede from one another thus adjusting the attachment member relative to the base member. One screw 9 is hollow to receive the other screw 8 telescopically as they approach. Specifications 779,943 and 877,032 are referred to.
