Abstract

A casein glue consisting of casein, water and slaked lime is prepared by a process characterized in that the slaking process takes place by swelling, whereby any excess of water is avoided, and in that the freshly slaked lime is added in an aqueous suspension to a casein-water mixture, the casein having an albumin content of at least 87% and a lactic acid content of at most 0.3%.
