Abstract

958,805. Cams. BROOKHIRST IGRANIC Ltd. Feb. 15, 1962 [May 3, 1961], No. 16075/61. Heading F2K. [Also in Division H2] A "joy-stick " lever 3 engages a hole 29 in a linkage plate 25 coupled with rocker plates 14, 15, which have toothed racks on their under surfaces engaging pinion wheels 12, 13, riveted through a mounting plate 7 to cams 8, 9, such that movement of lever 3 causes rotation of cams 8, 9 to engage one or more switch plungers 10a, 10b or 11a, 11b (see Division H2). The plates 14, 15 are pivoted at 16, 19 to plate 7 and are moved individually as linkage plate 25 is moved either longitudinally to deflect plate 14 or in a direction at right-angles to deflect plate 15, or alternatively both plates 14, 15 are deflected if plate 25 is moved diagonally. Gate plates of different shapes can limit lever 3 to movement only in selected directions. Spring loaded arms 18, 21 make lever 3 retractive. Alternatively, a latching modification is described.
