Abstract

958,218. Bearings. CAM GEARS Ltd. April 28, 1961 [June 3, 1960], No. 19767/60. Heading F2A. A bearing bush comprises a portion bored to receive a shaft &c. and a resilient portion, the external and internal diameters of which are larger than the external and internal diameters respectively of the bored portion. The bush can be held in a tube by the resilient portion, which may be connected by a thin neck to the bored portion. In an embodiment, Fig. 1, the bush has a resilient portion 4 at each end, and each portion 4 has three equi-spaced longitudinal slits 6 therein and is chamfered to facilitate insertion in the tube (not shown). In a modification the bored portion has a longitudinal slit therein. The tube may have a peripheral indentation abutted by the bush. The bush may be made of nylon or polythene &c. and the bore could be impregnated with graphite or molybdenum disulphide.
