Abstract

957,974. Pulse distributing circuits. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Feb. 11, 1963 [Feb. 14, 1962], No. 5483/63. Heading G4A. Pulses are distributed equally over a number of outputs under the control of a pair of counters fed by a common input and having a common divisor, the arrangement being that at least one of the counters is controlled so as to have a regularly repeating irregularity whereby the distribution of pulses is rendered even. Two ring counters Xl, X2, Fig. 4, have four and six stages respectively so that without irregularity only half of the leads joining the stages would be pulsed. By arranging that when the fourth and sixth stages of X1, X2, respectively are reached that X1 should dwell on stage 4 and similarly that shift should take place from 3(X1), 6(X2) to 1(X1), 1(X2) then the cycle covers all the leads. This irregularity is achieved by a coincidence gate responding to 6(X2) and 4(X1) or 3(X1). Fig. 6 shows such an arrangement in detail, using magnetic core switching circuits.
