Abstract
954,190. Selective printing. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. March 22, 1963 [March 27, 1962], No. 11475/63. Heading B6F. Typewheel actions; hammer impression arrangements.-A printer comprises a plurality of continuously rotating type-wheels 11, Fig. 1, having associated therewith a plurality of type hammers 14, which in their rest position are retained by a plunger 21 of individual solenoids 22. When the solenoids are activated, the plunger passes down in a slot 27 whereby springs 20 displace the appropriate hammers towards a common hammer drive comprising cams 13, Fig. 2, whose noses 25 engage the hammer rear parts 19 and propel the hammers towards the type-wheels 11. Immediately thereafter the solenoid plungers 21 are restored by springs 23 to arrest the hammers restored by springs 20 by abutting against hammer shoulders 24.
