Abstract

954,136. Mounting electric immersion heaters. MANUFACTURE PYROR S.A. May 2, 1962 -[May 3, 1961], No. 16915/62. Heading H5H. An immersion heater passes through and is supported by a plate which may be placed over an opening in the wall of a container for mounting the heater therein, at least one flanged member being mounted on the plate such that it may be displaced in, or into, an inclined direction relative to the plane of the plate, to allow it to pass through the opening and thereafter extend behind the edge of the opening. The U-shaped heater 1 is welded to plate 4 which is provided with a groove for an elastic sealing- ring 5, and housings 9, of square cross-section, each with its innermost wall 10 slanted to permit angular displacement of a square section flanged member 8 against the ring 10. Nuts on the threaded portions 11 enable the plate to be clamped against the container wall. In a modification (Figs. 2 and 3, not shown) which employs only a single flanged member, the latter is axially displaceable in an inclined housing positioned between the two legs of the heater.
