Abstract

953,731. Toys; wheels. METTOY CO. Ltd. Sept. 6, 1960 [Sept. 24, 1959], No. 32501/59. Heading A6S. [Also in Division B8] A toy motor car has adhesively secured to the outer face of each wheel a label comprising a circular piece of pliable sheet material whose outer face has an annular portion coloured white to simulate the white wall of a tyre and the remaining central portion differently coloured. The sheet material 4 consists of a layer 5 of paper, fabric or the like faced with metal foil 6 or of metal foil alone. The rear face is coated with adhesive and applied to a removable backing sheet 7. A plurality of circular labels 8 is cut from the sheet material, each label has an annular outer portion 9 coloured white and the centre portion 10 differently coloured or exposes the metal foil. An additional ring of colour may be applied between the white ring and the centre. The centre may be embossed. The label is applied to the wheel so that the tread portion of the tyre is partly exposed.
