Abstract

953,044. Artificial flowers &c. N. BERTRAND. Feb. 6, 1963 [Feb. 28, 1962], No. 4795/63. Heading A4X. The stem or trunk of an artificial plant is built up of elements 1, 2 having male portions 1a, 2a at one of their respective ends and complementary female portions 1b, 2b, at the other end, which portions engage the portions 1a, 2a with a friction fit and which are of a length which allows relative reciprocable displacement without disengagement so that adjustment of combined length is possible. Elements 1, 2 are formed with integral leaves 3, 4 and a stiff but bendable wire 5 is embedded in the material so that the leaf will retain any desired shape. Members 7, 8 simulating roots are trapped by and between elements 1, 2.
