An epicyclic friction gear connecting shafts 2, 13 comprises balls 4 carried by a cage 5 and engaging the inclined sides of a groove 3 in the external periphery of an inner race 1 secured to shaft 2, and the unequally inclined conical surfaces of an outer race split into two portions 6, 7 of which the former is connected to shaft 13 and the latter is secured to a fixed anchoring member 10A.
