Abstract

952,225. Printed circuit boards. BELL PUNCH CO. Ltd. Aug. 2, 1962 [Aug. 8, 1961], No. 28612/61. Heading H1R. A printed circuit board has a handle plate mounted thereon and movable parallel to the plane of the board, and catch means normally holds the handle plate so that it does not overlap the board, but is releasable to permit the handle plate to be moved outwardly of the board. As shown, an insulating board 1, stiffened by flanges 14 and having conductive areas affixed thereto, has a plurality of plug connectors 2 adapted to engage complementary sockets in a retaining cabinet of, e.g. a totalizator. A handle plate 3 with a gripping flange 10 at its outward end is mounted on the board 1 by three posts 12 which extend into slots 6, 7, 9 in the plate 3. A tension spring 13 is secured between one post 12 and the plate 3 so that when the plate is pushed at A, recesses 8 in slots 6, 7 engage posts 12 to retain the plate in the position shown; when the plate is pushed at B it is sprung forward to the position shown by the chain-dotted line. The plate 3 is separated from board 1 by paper 11 or other insulating material.
