Abstract
Propylene is polymerized at 30 to 200 DEG C. with a catalyst consisting of a titanium halide, an organoaluminium compound (an aluminium alky or alkyl aluminium halide or mixture thereof) and a glycol ether dispersed in an inert hydrocarbon which contains molecular hydrogen (e.g. 15-45 p.p.m. by weight). In examples, the solvent was isooctane and the catalyst ingredients were TiCl3, AlEt3 and diethylene glycol dimethyl ether.
