950,094. Band-separation filters. SOC. NOUVELLE D'ELECTRONIQUES ET DE LA RADIO-INDUSTRIE. Jan. 13, 1961 [Jan. 20, 1960], No. 1574/61. Heading H1W. A microwave separator unit comprises a symmetrical rectangular waveguide Y-junction 1 whose branches 12, 13 each contain filters designed to transmit waves in a certain band of frequencies and reject the waves transmitted by the other branch. The filters each comprise two T-junctions having shunt and series stubs adjusted by plungers. The dimensions and positions of the filters are so chosen that, for the rejected bands, virtual short-circuits appear in the planes 18, whereby the junction has the characteristics of a matched bend for the transmitted bands.
