950,040. Hatch cover operating appliances. KONSTRUKTIONER & EXPERIMENT A.B. Aug. 3, 1962 [Aug. 21, 1961], No. 30028/62. Heading E2M. A hatch cover section 1 pivoted on a spindle 2 carried by a block 3 is operated by an hydraulic jack 7 one end of which is connected to the cover at a distance from the spindle and the other end of which is pivoted to an arm 6 secured to the block, the block being slidable vertically without rotation between guide bars 5 fastened to the deck. Preferably two blocks are provided, each being non rotatably secured to the spindle, and the arm is fast on the spindle.
