Abstract

948,944. Television pick-up tubes. PYE Ltd. Jan. 31, 1962 [Feb. 3, 1961; June 9, 1961], Nos. 418219/61 and 20920/61. Heading H1D. One or more vibration damping members, e.g. a metal frame or the metal strips 3, Fig. 1, are secured to and supported by the wire mesh 1 of a pick-up, e.g. image orthicon, tube target electrode, outside the target area. The members increase the mass of the mesh. The members may be sintered or riveted, on one or both sides of the mesh. They may also space the mesh from the charge storage electrode, which may be a glass or semi-conductor membrane 5, Fig. 4, and may carry additional spacers 7. The first Provisional Specification describes metal fingers bearing upon the mesh.
