[Also in Division F2] A flywheel attachment for pedal cycles is mounted in bearings on the cycle-frame and is operatively connected to a road wheel of the cycle (not shown). The flywheel consists of an assembly of seven segments of quadrant form (vide 4 of Fig. 1) aligned in the sequence shown in the Figure on a shaft 5. The middle segment is double the thickness of the others and their masses are evenly distributed around a full circle. The leading edges 7 of each of the quadrants has a double bevel and their mass is mainly concentrated along their peripheral arcuate edge.
