Abstract

948,337. Scissors. H. M. CLARK. May 11, 1961 [Feb. 12, 1960], No. 5080/60. Heading B4B. In trimming scissors, e.g. nail scissors, troughs 5, 6 are provided on the inner face of blade 2 and the outer face of blade 3, respectively, the blades forming one side of, or lying in contact with, a side of a trough, and the trough 5 entering the trough 6 when the blades are closed to form a closed container for clippings. The troughs are preferably soldered to the blades and the end walls of the trough 5 are offset from the surface of the blade 2 to form slots 10 into which the blade 3 enters when the scissors are closed. The scissors are usable in either hand and may have curved blades and the troughs may be made of transparent material.
